Located about 94 km from Mysore, Karnataka, Nagarhole is one among the few natural habitats of Asian elephants. The place was once the hunting ground of the Mysore kings. The place derives its name from Kannada – ‘Naga’ meaning snake and ‘hole’ meaning streams. Nagarhole is a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere reserve.
