The Evergreen Estate Bungalow was built in 1955, during a time when the architecture of the valley was being influenced by the British colonial style. This bungalow also reflects a quaint blend of local style with a mild overlay of colonial architecture.

This contoured land is verdant with plantation of rubber, pepper, coffee, vanilla and clove. Koottickal which extends north east inwards from Mundakayam valley was the land chosen by early planters from the west.. Mr. John Joseph Murphy, a great lover of the land, had his flourishing rubber estate established in 1904. Further east we are at the foot hills of PERIYAR TIGER RESERVE THEKKADY as the bungalow is a comfortable operating base towards the high ranges of peermade hills and periyar valley.
