The Land of Pristine Beaches

Port Blair remains etched in the chronicles of India’s freedom struggle as the torment land of the freedom fighters. The Cellular Jail, built by the British to house Indian freedom fighters, is anchored at this capital town of Andaman and Nicobar group of Islands. Though the city has a past tainted with the sufferings of Indians, it has managed to find a position in the world tourism map with its pristine beaches and astounding scenic beauty!

Fabled as the Emerald Islands, Port Blair puts on show a brilliant combination of the lush green forests and the deep blue hue of the sea! It is said that these islands served Cannibalistic tribes during the earlier times. By the late 18th century a very strict colony was established by the British.
